The day he proposed in Maui on April 2019 was overwhelming. Matt drove down a winding road to Hana that day. And at the end of that long journey, we stopped at a black sand beach. With a yellow flower in my hair, he took my hand, and led me into a lava tube. He got down on one knee without saying a word, in true Matt form, and pulled out a beautiful ring. Without us needing to say a word, we embraced and knew that forever began that day.
When Kristina said she wanted to celebrate her birthday in Maui, I knew it was the perfect place to propose. Many agree that I was probably just a little late on the timing. As we hopped from beach to beach, waterfall to waterfall, the moment finally came in a lava tube on a black sand beach. Although I was nervous, it was one of the easiest decisions in my life - to marry my best friend forever.
